Cohorts

We believe in this model to not just develop leaders but connect them across sectors for collaboration in the future. At this point in time the cohorts are intentionally designed and therefore by invite only. We are excited to present an opportunity for you to invest tangibly in elevating BIPOC leadership.

Live Justly Cohorts are prayerfully designed to foster an environment of flourishing, so who your journey with matters to us. This cohort is open to both BIPOC emerging leaders and allies who want deeper integration of their ideas into action. We are excited to open this opportunity to connect with new justice champions.

Artist Activist Cohort

Most North American worshiping communities have little to no prophetic imagination, driving many young people of color out of the Church. Beauty in Resistance is Chasing Justice’s artist activist cohort that will equip emerging BIPOC worship artist activists to shape their local ministries to have a prophetic imagination that celebrates the goodness and beauty of the justice God seeks for our world.

This is an eight-month cohort for young (22-30) BIPOC emerging ministry leaders serving in churches or other ministries. The cohort will meet monthly for six virtual sessions to engage topics such as prophetic imagination, the formation journey, worship design, praise and protest, and decolonizing worship, and will culminate in a four-day, in-person retreat where participants will be invited to encounter God and worship through original creative expression in whatever mediums they choose.

This program is made possible through a Vital Worship Grant from the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship, Grand Rapids, Michigan, with funds provided by Lilly Endownment Inc.
